Agenda Highlights

Challenges & opportunities

The group's challenges this time:

  • Anna at Nouryon is planning the implementation of a new version of their CMS (Episerver) and is grappling with how to avoid content sprawl and is wondering whether a new governance approach is needed.

  • Petra is new in her role at AXIS Communications. She is looking for a good way of tackling a situation with a misalignment of goals across departments and seemingly no clear goals / objectives. This is affecting / stifling the planning and execution of marketing efforts; in particular work on the new marketing platform her team is currently working on.

  • Tor any Azets is asking how you get two different departments to work together when they have different objectives.

  • Solveig at Air Liquid has thus far been responsible for digital in the "North West" region. The UK has just been added to Solveig's country cluster and she is asking how best to get the UK market onboard

  • Stefan has recently started a new job at Hiab. He is grappling with how to get up two speed, effective and build the ability to navigate quickly in an environment with many strong minded people and high expectations.

  • Anders at AXIS’ challenge: is facing a Drupal project with a tough deadline and is asking how you stay motivated with tough (crazy) demands and requests.

  • Ian at Saxo Bank is leading a dispersed team with many different cultures and backgrounds represented. They have consistently proven to both themselves and others that this richness and variety on the team has been an advantage that has made them work mnoire effectively and contributed to batter outcomes in many ways. Ian's observation is, however, that teams often reflect thet managers tend to build teams with people with the same cultures as their own. He wants to create a programme that encourage people to work across cultures, personalities, ages etc. Ian's challenge is how to make people realise that cultural differences on a team is an asset and not a hindrance.

Ian and Tor's challenges were chosen to be discussed using the Question Bank exercise.

POST YOUR QUESTION IN WORKPLACE

Those of you who did not get enough votes to have the challenge "challenged" through the exercise, please post your challenge in the Workplace group and let us continue the discussions there. We can then decide whether we want to make one or more of the session material at the next MindMeet.

what is the right operating model for digital?

What does a future digital communications team look like?

Which internal and external factors will be influencing and shaping the decision making?

How is your company / organisation thinking about / responding to this?

What are you doing to influence developments in this area?

We discuss how the way we coordinate our efforts is evolving and what our role is in shaping it.

how do we Measure impact, performance & engagement?

How do you set sensible and meaningful success criteria - and is working with the notion of KPIs a good idea?

The right level of ambition?

Good definitions of "engagement" Measurement, reporting and follow up? (format, scale, frequency and to whom?)

We discussed experiences with establishing and evolving the right framework, tools deployed and the chosen Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).

Niels from Advice A/S walked us through
