ON LOCATION | Quick overview
What?
All-day meetings for ConnectMinds ON LOCATION groups
Frequency: 4 per year
Who?
Members only
Focus
Members help each other solve challenges, make progress with current projects and discuss trends, opportunities and careers.
Location
Members take turn hosting at their place of work.
ON LOCATION | Full details
-
An ON LOCATION Group is formed and based in one location.
Each group is shaped around a particular focus area. You can read out the topic areas we cover in the respective groups in the section on Topics
A group typically has app. 15 carefully selected members whose backgrounds, experiences, ideas and ambitions are deemed to compliment each other in ways that will foster fruitful discussions, allow for exchanges of insights, challenges and sometimes opposing views. While being your local group, all activities are planned to take advantage of the global ConnectMinds network.
-
We carefully curate our ON LOCATION groups to make them as relevant and useful as possible.
Our approach in short: we don’t build the group around a particular role, title or skill set; rather, the shared focus is the deliverable the respective members are contributing to. Examples could be the organisation’s digital employee experience; the organisation’s digital customer journey or the organisation’s framework for analytics and insights.
These are vast and complex deliverables and require the contributions and expertise of several stakeholders from numerous departments. Our groups bring together representatives from the various stakeholder groups in a “safe space” where shared challenges and common problems can be identified, addressed, explored and discussed and better methods and solutions devised in collaboration.
-
The group gets together for 4 in-person meetings - also known as “MindMeets” annually*. Agendas are developed through an ongoing dialogue between the group leader and the members. The group leader suggests themes based on the trends we observe across the network. We follow up on progress since the previous MindMeet when we meet.
* When local meeting restrictions are in place, meetings will either be postponed or held online.
Why do we insist on face-to-face meetings?
-Because face to face conversations are difficult, but fruitful
-Because answers and responses cannot be edited in advance!
-
You are the expert; the group is your stage.
You will be asked to contribute by suggesting topics and challenges and by sharing examples of work, insights from projects etc. You can always discuss your ideas and how to put them to the group with your group leader.
We don't do one-way seminars or "death-by-PowerPoint"! The format varies, but the sessions will always be planned with time for focused discussion. Everyone provides input and feedback. We occasionally invite experts we trust to add depth or perspective. These will never be sales pitches or marketing presentations.

OVERVIEW | Full details
-
2 online summits per year for all ConnectMinds members.
An opportunity to share important cross-network findings, trends & tendencies. (60-90 minutes.)
A digest of recent significant developments, recurring questions, essential discoveries and emerging global trends.
-
In this concentrated, global session, we cover the things you need to know; the inevitable changes you should prepare for; the stuff that matters. What worked well for many? Any recurring disappointments?
It is difficult to keep up with an increasingly crowded and confusing market place of products, methods and services. At the quarterly OVERVIEW sessions, we assess the real value of new concepts and their claimed benefits. We learn from the experience of first movers in the real world so you can avoid wasting time on hype, buzz and hot air and make the big decisions with clarity and confidence.
We work through the questions and the answers will reveal both new opportunities and early warnings and you will leave equipped to make better and more informed decisions.

ConnectMinds EXPLORER | Quick overview
What?
Bespoke format allowing 5-7 members to form a group for deep exploration into one clearly defined topic. Objectives, scope and activity level decided by members.
Focus
One chosen and clearly defined topic is explored in depth.
Who?
Members can participate at no extra cost as part of their membership.
Non-members can join an EXPLORER group for €100/month (min. 3 months).
ConnectMinds EXPLORER | Full details
-
It’s a bespoke format:
A small number of organisations (5-7) with a shared vision, challenge or objective in one clearly defined area dive deep together to make more rapid progress, add perspective, minimise risk and increase the likelihood of success.
Meeting frequency, content and lifespan of the group will vary. All members can make use of this as part of their ConnectMinds membership.
-
We can suggest it - or you can pitch it
An EXPLORER Group can grow out of observations by us - or an idea you have. Either way, we discuss, sharpen and evolve the details together.
We spot synergies
We regularly identify that a handful of organisations independently are working on the same or very similar initiatives; perhaps an attempt to be first movers or become best in class in their industry. They have similar ambitions, but different perspectives and ways of approaching it.
We start with an exploratory meeting
The synergies are obvious, so we suggest an initial "meeting of minds"; a conversation facilitated by ConnectMinds and with no commitment, obligation or prejudice. This is to uncover whether the synergies could form the basis for an "EXPLORER Group". The idea is to follow each other's progress, provide feedback and support each other's efforts.
The group and its scope
The format, frequency of meetings and life span of the group are all up to the members.
-
You can see a list of groups currently running and one with groups in the planning; i.e. the topic has been suggested and we are identifying the right candidates to join.

ConnectMinds CURATOR | Quick overview
What
2 online sessions per year showcasing the most innovative and inspiring work / work practices in the network.
Duration: 90 minutes.
Focus
We have no criteria for what constitutes “innovative and inspiring work”. We strive to share a mix of products, services, work practices and useful frameworks / methods.
Who?
Open to both members and non-members.
ConnectMinds CURATOR | Full details
-
Online sessions held twice a year, showcasing innovative & inspiring work in the network. All ConnectMinds members and their colleagues can participate.
We feature interesting, innovative & inspiring work from across the network and talk to the bright minds behind the work about how they did it.
This is not an award ceremony or a “best practice catalogue”; we simply wish to bring examples of great work and smart solutions we spot at group sessions or through conversations with members to a wider audience. It’s a win-win format: we celebrate the hard work of those behind the success and other members will have an opportunity to talk to those who made it happen, leave with inspiring new ideas and alternative approaches.
-
We invite one or two cases every time. The team behind the work will talk about their point of departure; the objectives, ambitions and motivation. They will share insights from the journey, show the result and - if appropriate, talk about the impact of it. This will be followed by Q&A and open discussion.
-
This is not an award ceremony or a “best practice catalogue”. We have no criteria for what constitutes a “worthy entry”; it could be an innovative service or produce; it could be a “new way of working” or a new approach to solving a problem; it could be a concept or solution that offers an alternative to an established practice; it could be an inspiring design solution - it could be anything that has improved the status quo (for our members or for their customers) and which we think has the potential to do the same elsewhere.
Anyone can nominate a case (or put themselves up for nomination). We accept entries every day throughout the year. Simply tell us a bit about it and answer a few questions.

Quick overview
What?
Expert-led online sessions introducing and exploring important, and challenging topics. 6-8 per year.
Duration: 60-90 minutes.
Focus
The range of topics explored is wide. We strive to offer a programme combining topics with immediate relevance and direct application in the work of members today and topics that will challenge and stimulate members to evaluate their chosen work practices; offer alternatives, add perspective etc.
Who?
Always open to members
Selected events open to non-members.
ConnectMinds DISCOVER | Full details
-
Regular Expert-lead online sessions addressing a wide range of topics related to the roles of our members.
Each session will explore one topic. All members and their colleagues can participate as part of their membership. Sometimes open to the public.
DISCOVER sessions offer the same kind of peer support, guidance and reassurance as our long-running, successful groups, but run independently of them. These sessions are accessible from wherever you are and are open to non-members.
-
A DISCOVER session is not a webinar or a lecture; the brief to the subject matter experts we invite is that the session should be based on two-way exchanges; that as well as share their insights and expertise, they should themselves have at least one unanswered question they would like to discuss with the participants.
The format is flexible and depends on the topic in question.
ConnectMinds DISCOVER is delivered by experienced facilitators. They also lead ConnectMinds groups, allowing them to cross-fertilise ideas and build connections between them.
-
We strive to offer a programme that blends some of the big, complex and challenging topics that are integral to the roles of our members with topics that may not be “core” or “critical” to the day-to-day work of members, but which are still highly relevant.
Relevant for example in terms of trends or developments in the market they are part of. This could be new legislation (such as GDPR or accessibility) or external factors and how to handle them (e.g. a global pandemic and how it impacts leadership- and crisis-communication).
Topics could also be deemed relevant if they challenge members to look ahead and consider their approaches and professionals choices e.g. in the light of developments in related fields; technological, environmental etc. The content is not designed for “blue sky thinking” or “looking far into the future”; it should be relevant to the work and thinking of members today.
