ConnectMinds | Weekly Digest | 6. May 2022

Fresh Insights | Upcoming Events | Member Questions

Bright minds everywhere,

On Friday, we sent out our first Weekly Digest. Despite having checked the format in various browsers before sendout, many of you told us that what ended up in your inboxes appeared to be anything but digested; an illegible mess. Apologies for starting your weekend with an eyesore! Here is a format we know works. So here is exactly the same content, but in a format that doesnโ€™t break!

And this is what we featured:

  1. New insights from across the network; should hopefully inspire you.

  2. Events 6 weeks ahead; check that you / your team are signed up!

  3. Help fellow members asking for input; add your insights and ideas!

We hope you like it - do let us know either way.

Stay connected!

Your ConnectMinds Team

"Meaningful Metrics: Are you measuring what really matters?"

TOPIC: our roles   |   WHAT: ConnectMinds Comment - Article

Coming out of a turbulent and intense two years, we ask what - if anything - has changed for those managing internal / employee focused communications and channels. We will be exploring this topic across the network over he coming quarter.

TOPIC: Measuring Impact   |   WHAT: Draft model

We are working on a simple model for measuring impact, using meaningful metrics that are rooted in "real" business objectives.

Check it out and let us have your input and feedback. (you can leave comments in the document or post it under the post on ConnectUs. This is an early draft and we plan to continually evolve and improve it in collaboration with you, our members in the network.

Topic: Developing a mobile strategy for employee communications

Steve Schmidt in Philadelphia and Chris Stewart in Vancouver; both working at QVC (Quarate Retail):

We are developing a new mobile strategy for employees across their enterprise and are keen to talk to anyone who has experience with this. If you have and would be willing to share your insights, get in touch.

Topic: Content automation and dynamic content assembly

Gordon McKie at Hilton Worldwide in Glasgow:

Iโ€™m looking to connect with anyone who has worked on (or is currently working on) content automation and dynamic content assembly. Specifically, Iโ€™m interested to hear how others are leveraging AI/machine learning to power omnichannel content assembly and optimisation across audiences and channels. For anyone who has experience in the field, what efficiencies are results are you seeing? What challenges have you encountered and how did you overcome them? And what kind of preparatory work is required? Add any insights you have.

Topic: Help improve SharePoint navigation!

Chris Casteller at CIBC in Toronto:

Iโ€™m finding there is a gap with how navigation flows through hub sites and Iโ€™ve suggested improvements at Microsoft's Feedback Portal. It would be great if you could vote for my suggestions to get the suggestions considered by Microsoft. Check it out - and if you agree, add your voice.
